What is Ahead of the Game?
Ahead of the Game is Ara’s gambling harm education and prevention programme for young people aged 10 to 24 and the adults who support them.
Our workshops help young people understand risk, recognise harm and make informed choices. We also train professionals, parents, carers and guardians to identify concerns, start supportive conversations and know where to find help.
Our aim is to prevent harm, reduce stigma and encourage early support.
Who Can Attend Workshops?
Our workshops and training are designed for young people aged 10 to 24, as well as parents, carers, guardians, schools, colleges, youth services, local authorities, organisations and professionals.
Free tailored delivery is currently available for eligible settings in the Bristol City Council area.
We also run open online sessions for professionals, parents, carers and guardians, which are available to anyone, regardless of location. If you are outside Bristol, please contact us to discuss what may be possible.

What Topics Are Covered?
Our workshops cover a range of topics focused on young people’s experience of gambling harms including the signs of gambling harm, the impact of gaming, and how to seek help. We provide tailored content for both young people and adults. Our aim is to equip participants with the knowledge to prevent gambling-related issues.
